Angela has been working with animals for more than 20 years. She has worked in small animal and mixed veterinary practices, caring for horses & ponies, dog and cats. Originally from Lincolnshire, Angela's career began working with ridden horses before she managed a stables, breeding and producing native ponies for in-hand showing and riding. She particularly enjoyed working with foals and the challenge of training feral ponies from the New Forest.
Around this time, Angela decided to develop her interest in animal behaviour science, training and problem behaviour management. She studied for a BSc (hons) in Animal Behaviour Science whilst working for a rescue kennels during the holidays. Angela graduated in 2000 and continued working in rescue, assessing and rehabilitating rescue cases. Following relocation to SW London, she began behaviour counselling, offering clinic consultations whilst working in a small animal veterinary clinic. Angela joined the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) in 2003, and has been a Full Member since 2006.
Angela is a member of the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour (ASAB) and the Companion Animal Behaviour Therapy Study Group (CABSTG). She regularly attends seminars and workshops organised by these and other organisations to further her knowledge of animal behaviour science.
In her spare time, Angela enjoys spending time with her 4 year old daughter, and training and playing with her 4 German Shepherd Dogs.
Claire has been working with animals for the last 16 years. She started her career by helping out at her local Cat's Protection League before qualifying and working as Veterinary Nurse for 15 years. She has worked for many of the leading animal charities based in London, including Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, RSPCA & the Blue Cross.
Claire gained a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour & Conservation which led to working with a variety of wildlife such as Big Cats at the Cats Survival Trust in Herts., and Bears, Primates & Birds at the Thai Society for Conservation in Thailand, and for the Born Free Foundation in their Zoo Check department. Claire's most rewarding work with wildlife, was managing a China-based Bear Rescue Centre for Animals Asia, caring for 170 captive Bears along with rescued Primates and Wildcats. During her stay Claire featured on an Animal Planet documentary filmed at the Sanctuary, demonstrating the use of clicker training to teach a bear to present her chest for a stethoscope examination.
Claire has a great interest in all animals and previously owned Josh - a much-loved Border collie. Currently she is owned by 5 cats who she adopted from the Celia Hammond Trust after fostering the mother cat and her 4 kittens.
Currently, Claire works occassionally as a vet nurse and also runs puppy socialisation and introductory training classes in SW London. She recently completed a Post Graduate diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling at Southampton University. When time allows she hopes to develop her studies further to MSc or PHD level. Claire keeps up to date with developments in animal behaviour science by regularly attending conferences and seminars.
